Bullion knots are advanced embroidery stitches that are trickier to work than traditional French knots. Bullion knots are made by bringing up the needle through the fabric, wrapping the thread around the needle six or seven times, pulling the needle through the thread, and re-inserting it back into the fabric.
The coral embroidery stitch is a knotted stitch that is worked from the right to the left across the fabric. It is made by bringing the thread up through the fabric, laying it along a stitching line and securing it with your thumb while making a small know to secure the thread to the stitching line.
The fishbone stitch is a flat embroidery stitch that is great for working leaves, flower petals or any shape that has a central vein. It is stitched diagonally from the outside of the shape to the center.
The feather stitch is a versatile and decorative loop stitch that looks just like a feather when worked on fabric. The stitches are shaped like a V and alternately worked from right to left.
The fly stitch is worked singly or in vertical rows. It is made by working a V-shaped stitch like the feather stitch and then securing it with a running stitch. The fly stitch can be as short or long as you desire.
