Introduction:

These top five reasons to like football are pretty convincing, however, I'm not much of a football fan. Many fine people do enjoy football, including many of my friends and coworkers. These are the top five reasons given by my buddies Lori, Julie, Brittany, and Tiffany about why they like football.

Camaraderie

Football viewing shared with a fun bunch of friends is a lot more exciting than when you watch it by yourself. You can wear your team colors and get out your team gear. You can bond by cheering for the same team, or have friendly rivalry cheering for opposing teams. The NFL Football game will give you things to talk about afterwards too. You can armchair quarterback the strategies, the player's athleticism, and the player's personal lives.

Food

Food for football watching is awesome bar snack type fare. Scarf down cheese nachos, wings, popcorn, and pizza. If you're lucky, somebody loves preparing yummy stuff like special hot artichoke dip and bacon wrapped rumaki for you. Then, of course, there's the beer. You need to wash all that football food down with plenty of suds.

Physiques

Evidently, some female football fans like the combination of a football player's fine physique and his form fitting football pants. Need I say more?

The Game Itself

My friends understand the game. They get it when a flag is thrown. They can decipher the meaning of every call. They look at what I see as a giant pile of chaotically entangled football players, and they understand why it happened that way and what it means for their favorite team.
I am told that if I understood the game of football, I might enjoy it a lot more. Brittany reports that her mom read "Football for Dummies", since she used to know nothing about the game. Now, her mother is a font of knowledge about football rules, history, and trivia!

Super Bowl

The NFL football Super Bowl is a really big, big,big,big deal. My friends look forward to it as a culmination of all the blood, sweat, and tears shed during the season. They love the hoopla, the build-up and the suspense.
The other things they appreciate about the Super Bowl are the commercials and the half time show. Super Bowl commercials bring out a lot of creativity for high stakes business competition. It's fun to find out what they've cooked up for the high tech halftime entertainment too.
