Cool Tricks to Teach Your Dog

Introduction:

Any old dog can sit and stay. Take your dog from average to awesome by teaching him unique tricks like the following.

Bang

Yes, some dogs can play dead. But, you can make your dog unique by doing it with some style. Point your finger at your dog and say "Bang", then teach Fido to fall over and freeze. Once he has it from standing still, have him charge towards you and do it. He should fall over instantly. Your friends will be amazed.

Tap Out

A lot of men are big fans of wrestling and the UFC. You can show off your dog's moves by teaching him to "Tap Out" when you wrestle with him. The way this works, is he will tap his paw on the floor when you have him in a head lock. This scores big points with wrestling fans.

Identify People

Even though most dogs mark one person as "their" human, they can still have a strong relationship with others. Amaze those people by having your dog identify them. You would tell your dog to "Find Dennis" and he would go to that person. You'd be amazed at how many people your dog can recognize.

Addition

Your dog can learn basic math. You can teach him simply equations like one plus one, two plus two, and so on. If your dog masters that with ease, you can graduate him to harder equations. You can teach him to answer by either barking the correct amount of times, or by tapping his paw.

Fetch

This isn't your ordinary game of fetch. There are no sticks, balls, or Frisbees involved. You can teach your dog to "fetch" you a drink. Now, remember this isn't going to work so well with little dogs, and even some larger dogs have a hard time opening the fridge; opting for a cooler with this trick may be easier. You can tell your dog to "get me a drink" and, with any luck, Fido will bring you back something to drink.




Final Thoughts

By nature, dogs are very smart creatures. There are certain breeds of dogs that are remarkably more intelligent than other breeds, but all in all, any dog can be taught tricks. Use your imagination and be creative. Teach your dog tricks that fit your personality. Not only will you amaze your friends, but this is a good way to bond with your dog as well.
