The Milwaukee Wave is an American professional indoor soccer team based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. Founded in 1984 they are the oldest continuously operating professional soccer team in North America and a member of the Major Indoor Soccer League.
The U.S. Cellular Arena is currently where the Milwaukee Wave currently plays at. They have been playing there since 2003. Other place where they played since they started the franchise started here was Milwaukee Auditorium from 1984-1987 and the Bradley Center from 1987-2003.
The Milwaukee Wave since 1984 has won five championships. These are the seasons that they won the championships, 1997-98, 1999- 2000, 2000-01, 2004-05 and 2010-11.
Since 1984 the Wave has played in five different league. The main reason is the other leagues has folded, exception of the current league that they are currently playing on. The leagues that they played are, AISA from 1984-90, NPSL II from 1990- 2008, XSL from 2008-09 and currently MISL III from 2009- current.
Kieth Tozer is currently coaching the Wave. He been coaching the team since 1992. He has led the Wave to the five championships. Former coaches that coached the Wave in the past are, 1984-1985, 1985-1986 seasons Dave Johnson, 1985-1986 season- Mike Custer, 1986-1987 season- Mike Custer, 1986-1990 seasons- John Dolinsky and 1990-1992 seasons- Johan Aarino.
Since 1984 the Milwaukee Wave has retire four of their numbers to honor the players that wore them. The following numbers that retired are as follows: 5- Peter Knezic, 11- Steve Morris, 27- Victor Nogueira, and 13- Michael King
