I have tried many different occupations during my working career but these five jobs are ones that I will never ever have.
Cold-calling people and interrupting them during their dinnertime does not appeal to me at all. No matter what they choose to call it, it is intrusive and I know I do not want someone soliciting me. (I actually did do this once- I lasted one hour and I quit)
Taxi driver, bus driver or anything that involves driving for a living is one position that I will never do. I don't like to drive and I live in the New York metropolitan area where it is very congested. Dealing with the stress of commuting and driving for a living is not the job for me.
I don't like math. Some people are good with numbers; I am not. Although I did do some bookkeeping in my past jobs, it never got complicated. Being an accountant and having to be responsible for a business' money is not a job that I am cut out for.
I have had to do minor collections in some of my past jobs. I always dreaded it. If I had to call people and attempt to make good on their debts, I most likely would fail. I can be too soft and maybe understand how someone could fall on hard times. My employer would certainly get rid of me when they realize how I would be too sympathetic to customers who owe money.
I love my laptop. I love the Internet. I do not desire a position that requires me to sit at a computer all day long and the technicalness of computer programming just hurts my brain. I know there is good money working as a computer programmer and in many positions requiring knowledge about computers but it is just not for me.
I think that it is important to find a job or career doing something that you enjoy. Knowing what you do not like can save your (and an employer) the trouble of time wasted.
I'm with you. These are all jobs that I will never have too.
Computer programming is not too bad. H5
We all have different strengths and talents and preferences. It's just as important to know what you don't want to do as to know what you do want to do.
