Do you feel tired around 3:00 every day? Do you find yourself complaining about being tired? Here are some reasons that you are feeling that way.
You have heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but do you know why? Because your metabolic rate stays slow to preserve energy if you don't eat. So skipping a meal, will mean you feeling tired. Notice how sometimes you get a burst of well being after eating? Instead of grabbing an energy drink that will wear off quickly, grab peanut butter or bagel, egg on toast.
Exercising is suppose to make you feel better, remember how a day at Disneyland or a weekend of hiking can make you feel drained. Over exercising does the same thing. If you feel tired the day after exercising, it may be a sign you need take a day off, to let your body recover and repair muscles.
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." is an old saying, but all work also makes you tired. It can really sap your energy being serious and responsible. Get up from your desk and mingle and take a break or even walk around the building, it will revitalize you.
When you are feeling thirsty you are already suffering mild dehydration, which causes you to feel lethargic. It's surprising how much better a glass of water can make you feel. Have a glass before every meal and then drink your usual beverage. It's a great appetite suppressant, too.
My dad would say, "Inactivity breeds inactivity." The more you sit around the more you want to sit around. The more your body gets used to the sofa or computer chair. All that sitting, actually makes you tired. Your body thinks that you are gearing up to sleep and that's why many times you probably find yourself doing just that. Get up and move around. Vacuuming, dusting or walking around the block will wake you up and it will actually revitalize you and make you feel like you want to do more moving.
Great stuff! H5
