Elf on the Shelf is one of Santa's Elves who has been sent to observe the behavior of the kiddos. Every night, he returns to the North Pole to give his report to the Big Man. Then he returns in the morning before everyone wakes and perches in a new hiding spot. Since we adopted our Elf in early December, we've found him in some pretty interesting predicaments...errr...hiding spaces.
Seems like we got the elf with the insatiable sweet tooth. First we found him sitting atop the cookie jar, then we found him in the cookie jar. I don't know whether he was reporting back to Santa about what kind of snack to expect on Christmas Eve or looking for his long lost Keebler relatives. Either way, he didn't sweep up the crumbs so I'll know who to thank if a mouse is indeed stirring on the night before Christmas.
Maybe he washed down those cookies with one too many servings of rum spiked eggnog because we woke the next morning to find him swinging from a chandelier.
The party never stops for our Elfie, who dropped by Barbie's house the next night. We're not sure exactly what transpired but we found him passed out in the whirlpool tub with a note from Ken that says someone needs to pay for the elevator repairman.
This is where he went to recover from his three day binge. Because there's no place like home for a hangover...or at least someplace that looks like home.
Apparently when you're done sleeping it off, you need some caffeine. In a big way. Which must be why we found him sitting inside a mug next to the coffeemaker, which had already been drained of its morning's first brew.
Thanks for the tips. I enjoy having fun with my grandchildren with Elf on the Shelf hiding places. H5

Sneaky little elf! Congrats on your front page!
Might be fun for my 3 year old.
Fun list about the elf on the shelf. If you have fun with it, maybe it won't be too frightening for some kids. My niece and nephew are totally freaked out by it. Congrats on front page.
Cute ... thanks!
Very creative and funny list! And by the way, do you notice what's hiding just behind my shoulder?
