Does anybody still buy cloth calendars? I do and over the years I have collected quite an assortment. I don't want to get rid of them so I've come up with a few ways to keep them around and make life more fun, I hope you enjoy these ideas.
If you have been collecting cloth calendars you may have enough to make a calendar quilt. A quilt is a great way to preserve your calendars and give them new life. If you aren't a quilter find someone who is have one made just for you.
Take a few of your special calendars and line them up down the center of your dining table to see how you like them together. Now using a solid piece of cloth sew or fabric glue your calendars onto the cloth and finish off the edges. You'll have a one of a kind table cover.
If you're like me you have a big binder full of recipes so take one of your cloth calendars and press (glue) it onto the binder for a uniquely YOU piece of artwork to go along with your fabulous family recipes. This can also be covered with a clear sheet of sticky back shelving paper to protect your calendar for years to come.
Do you have a cloth calendar for the year your child was born? Purchase a frame large enough to frame the calendar plus room left over to add pictures of your child down the sides. This makes a fabulous keepsake. It's worth it to invest in a quality frame for this project.
If you have any small windows these calendars are easily converted into curtains. Pair them up by design or color putting together two flowers or two puppy prints etc. They'll give your windows a lovely nostalgic look you'll be proud to show off.
I love all of these ideas and am looking forward to having my first quilt done.
You are so craftly! I'm envious. I like the bookcover idea. Even I can glue. HI5
