Anytime you have guests is a time for using these easy fondue tips. If you think about it, fondue can easily be a meal by adding a green salad or other vegetables on the side. Hot melted cheese and bread is a nourishing lunch, dinner or appetizer too.
Go to the grocery store and buy a huge bag of store brand non-seasoned bread stuffing. Most stores sell this product in the bread isle for under $3. Place the bread pieces in a colorful dish that invites your guests to dig in to the soft bread stuffing for their fondue. You might have to sort out some of the smaller pieces or crumbs before serving.
Many well known brands; like Pepperidge Farm, sell a package of nicely seasoned stuffing just done right for your fondue party. Try different spices or add your own to customize it for your guests. Some discount bread stores sell day old stuffing with brand names attached that are perfect for your fondue.
Select the kind of bread or make a combination of choices for dipping into the cheese. Use a clean cutting board as a surface for slicing the bread for serving next to your fondue pot. Make the bread pieces any size you want for your fondue sticks.
Select your favorite kind of cheese or combine them together in one fondue pot. Melt the cheese very slowly so you avoid scorching or burning.
It is not necessary to buy a fondue pot, however if you want one especially for your party they come in various sizes and shapes. Choose which one from a selection in the small appliance isle at your department store. Crock pots work great, so do regular casserole dishes and chafing dishes for easy fondue.
Don't double dip! Great list.
I love the pre-made cheese fondues but my favorite are chocolate dessert fondues. Yum!
