I'm sure if you're like me, you have a ton of those little plastic reward cards you get from different stores. Some are good, some are worthless. Here's my list of the top five that are truly worthy of a place in my purse!
Yes, you do have to pay a yearly fee, but I get coupons in my email every day. I also save 10% off all my purchases and at the Starbucks inside Barnes and Noble. This card has more than paid for itself within a month for me!
Starbucks cards are a little tricky. You have to use a gift card and load it to start your points. There are three levels to your card. The first is a Welcome level. This level earns you a free drink on your birthday. Green level is obtained after purchasing five drinks. At this level you receive free syrup flavors, free refills on brewed coffee or tea and a free beverage with every whole bean purchase. Next is the Gold Level. This is obtained after purchasing 30 drinks. At this level, for every 15 beverages purchased, you will receive a free drink. Also, on the last two levels, you will be eligible to receive any free trials that are offered.
This card is free to all members who have purchased a card in the past. If you have not purchased a card before, you need to pay 9.95. But, fear not, there are always specials going on to purchase the card and receive something for free. Anyway, these cards allow you to receive 20% off any in store purchase, excluding clearance and special promotional items. I like anything that takes a percentage off the top!
Best Buy's cards allow you to build store credit towards future purchases. If you shop there a lot, the savings can be wonderful! Last year, my husband received one for $50.00. Anytime you purchase a big ticket item, be sure to pick up your card. This could add up fast!
Staples rewards cards are similar to Best Buy's plan. You earn credit towards future purchases. We receive $25.00 off cards in the mail all the time. If you own a business, or use their copy center a lot, I highly recommend this one too.
I know a lot of businesses have cards. Like I said before, I have a ton of them. But these are the ones I have actually received benefits worthy of mention.
Saving money is always on my list. You have mentioned some neat ideas for individuals and businesses too. thank you
