This is a continuation of earlier list of ways to cut your grocery bill.
You don't have to have name brand products. Chances are there is an off brand or store brand at the store where you are grocery shopping. These items are usually 1/3 to 1/4 cheaper than the name brand item.
When deciding which brand of an item you are going to purchase, look at the labels to see which one is the best buy. Most of the time the larger size is the best value. Compare the cost per ounce.
I mentioned earlier that you can save a good deal when using coupons when you shop. Manufacturers also offer rebates on groceries and other products. Check their websites and also the Sunday supplements of coupons for the rebate forms. Doing several rebates a month adds up over the year.
Some stores offer frequent shopper programs where you are issued a card that allows for additional savings when you check out or a collection of points that can be redeemed for free items or gifts. These systems are nice to have to fall back on when the budget is tight.
If you are not a stay at home mom and do not have the time to stop at multiple stores to catch all of the sales each week, choose the store that has the best overall prices when doing your grocery shopping.
Good tips to save. Anytime a person can use these and save a little they will see it make a big difference in a month.
