You probably know him best for portraying the great detective Sherlock Holmes. In fact, Jeremy Brett is the quintessential Sherlock Holmes. However, he's appeared in numerous television shows and movies,including portraying Freddie Eynsford- Hill in My Fair Lady.
Silent film actor is the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Charlie Chaplin, but he was also a composer, director and producer. Of course we also know him as the Tramp. The movie the Kid was to me his most memorable.
I see a pattern here--silent film actors. There are quite a few silent film actors I admire. I will try not to put all of them here.
Lon Chaney is the quintessental horror actor. His portrayal of the phantom in the Phanom of the Opera is more sinister and scary than any other portrayal.
I think I've seen the original Indiana Jones movies 80 times at least. I've seen Clear and Present Danger and it's predecessor Patriot Games more than 100--I could probably recite it line for line.
One thing about Harrison Ford that is different than most actors is that all the emotions he has to portray are seen in his eyes. To watch a Harrison Ford film and not watch his eyes is not watching the emotion of the film.
He doesn't just look great in front of the camera, he can actually act!Most people know him from Pirates of the Carribean. I know him for his period pieces such as Kingdom of Heaven.
