Practice walking with your one year old. If he or she is anything like my one year old granddaughter, they love to hold your hand and walk. My little granddaughter gets so excited when I ask her to walk with me. She also gets very excited when I ask her to walk to me. She gets almost to me and she gets so excited that the top half of her body leans forward as she is laughing or giggling and then falls forward out of excitement. Walking of any kind is excellent exercise for a toddler or for any one of all ages. Walking for a little one year old helps with his or her balance and helps strengthen their muscles.
Dance with your little one year old. My little one year old granddaughter loves to dance to music. My cell phone has songs on it for the ringtones and whenever the phone rings, she starts dancing. She also has toys at my house that play music. She loves to push the buttons on one of her toys and then starts dancing. Dancing is so good for a little one year old. Dancing promotes good exercise, good practice on balance, use of muscles, and so much more.
