Most toddlers reach an age when they like to imitate Mom, Dad, Papa and Nana. Often driving a car is one of the earliest copied behaviors. There are a number of toys on the market that allow your child to pretend he or she is driving. While safely in a car seat, your child can have his or her own toy steering wheel, horn, and turn signal.
There are also a number of toys on the market that are safe for indoor driving. That is, as long as your furniture is childproof or broken-in by older children. These toys are small plastic cars, propelled by foot power, and complete with a drivers door, steering wheel, and trunk.
In most amusement parks there are rides designed for small toddlers or preschool kids. Your auto enthusiasts will love sitting in one of those cars that go around and around.
Your middle-school-aged kids might enjoy having their own race track in their bedroom or the family room. There are some sets that operate by electricity similar to a train set, and some that are wound up, and others that are operated simply by gravity. They can pretend they own the race track just like the ones on television.
While most people may not be able to afford them, kids are fascinated by the modern remote control cars that are on the market. Great way to pretend they are traveling to a destination around their home.
