Uses For Old Socks

Introduction:

Digging into the past of my experiences I have some budget uses for old socks that can help someone. These are both a list of useful and entertaining ideas, so pick one or all for yourself or family member.

Car Interior

Everyone has an odd sock every once in a while that does not ever seem to be paired up no matter how many wash loads are done. Save an old sock and use it to dust the interior of the dashboard of the car. Put some leather cleaner on the sock and brighten up the interior of your car by removing the dust and fingerprints on all the surfaces you find.

Cat Toy

Put some catnip in an old sock for your cat to play with for hours. Tie a knot, then tie another knot to keep the catnip in the sock while your feline flips it in the air and rolls around it too.Saving money with this reusable cat toy is only the beginning of the benefits. Wait until you view your cat playing with this toy.

Laundry Helper

If you wear panty hose to work an old sock can help you when laundry time rolls around. Put your two or three pairs of panty hose in the sock and loosely tie it closed. The washer won't tangle the panty hose and you will have clean panty hose ready for you to wear them as soon as you hang them and they are air dried.

Puppets

Old colored socks are a great play toy for children when they are made into puppets.They can be placed on a soda can or food bottle to draw facial details.Use nail polish or magic markers for contrasting marks. Let them dry before removing the sock.This idea will save money and create a valued toy the children will love for years.

Floor Care

The use of socks for floor care has to be done with real caution. Put a pair of socks on the feet. Spray the floor to be cleaned with usual spray cleaner. Walk by sliding feet to clean the floor without bending over to scrub with hand and without the use of a mop. Simply put the socks in the washer with other rags when the floor cleaning is finished.
