Challenge your children and their friends to prepare a performance.
Suggest one based on a holiday theme, such as Thanksgiving, let your children write the play, design the costumes, create the props and sets. They also can make fliers for distribution to family members and friends throughout the neighborhood.
Socks decorated with yarn and buttons will do for puppets. Children make up their scripts and develop their characterizations, sets, and special effects for the puppet show.
Although not always considered a performance, a parade qualifies as an event that requires planning and showmanship and prompts audience applause. Suggest that your kids and their friends create a neighborhood parade to include all the children.
Given the technology of the age, the performance your kids and their friends create may very well be a videotape. Older children can use camcorders, with adult supervision.
Children can put together booths and invite the neighbors to admire their handiwork and artwork, view their collections, buy their cookies and cakes, and play their games.
Love your list on creative performances.
Nice list. H5!
