Exercises You Can Do While Watching TV

Introduction:

There are so many different exercises that you can do right in front of the tv while you are watching your favorite show. So many people sit and munch while they are watching tv. Why not try some of these exercises while you are watching your favorite show instead of eating. Do something healthy for your body and mind instead of putting on extra pounds.

Jump Rope

Get that jump rope out and use it. This is an excellent cardiovascular exercise. It gets your heart pumping and your blood flowing. Jump roping uses all kinds of muscles such are your leg muscles, back, shoulder, arms, and abs. It loosens all of those muscles up. Jump roping not only uses all of your core muscles, it is an excellent way to lose weight while strengthening your heart. This is an excellent cardio way of exercising. So get off the couch and grab a jump rope and start jumping. You can jump rope fast, slow, in a skipping method, or anyway you feel comfortable doing it. No matter which way you decide to jump rope, you are doing your body some good.

Jogging or Walking

Jogging or walking in one spot is another excellent way to get your heart pumping. Jogging and even walking in one spot uses those muscles that you aren't using while sitting around on the couch. These two exercises help get your metabolism working so you are able to lose more weight. Get up off the couch and move those legs. If you want to get an even better workout while jogging or walking in front of the tv, be sure so move those arms too. This can be done while watching your tv show or even during all the commercials. Take advantage of those commercials and get up and get going with those legs and arms.

Toning or Stability Ball

Have you ever used a toning or stability ball? This is a big ball that you sit. lean, or balance on. A toning or stability ball works your core and helps you with balance. This is an excellent way to exercise while you are sitting in front of the tv. There are so many different types of exercises that you can do using a toning ball. You can do crunches, sit ups, pushups, and much more using a toning or stability ball. You can even use it while sitting on the ball or placing your legs on the ball or even just placing your chest on the ball while doing different exercises to strengthen your abs, legs, back, and arms. Another good exercise to do while you are using the toning ball is to stand and rotate the ball from side to side while holding the ball in front of you. This is an excellent exercise to strengthen your core and help get rid of some of your midsection.

Yoga

Yoga is getting more popular than it used to be. Yoga is a good exercise to do while you are watching tv or during all those commercials. Yoga helps you with your balance. Yoga also helps tone your body and helps you become more flexible. There are so many different yoga exercises to do that work so much of your muscles in your body. These are all easy to do while you are sitting or standing in front of the tv.

Weights

Get a set of weights. You don't need those big weight machines or weight bars. All you need is some weights for your ankles, arms, or just weights to hold on. Use those weights while you are walking, jogging, or stretching. Be careful not to get weights that are too heavy for you because you can do more harm than good. Stand up and do some leg and arm exercises while holding on to the weights or when you have the weights wrapped around your ankles or wrists. Raise your arms up and down to strengthen your arms and get rid of those flabby arms you wish you didn't have. Weights are great for toning your arms and legs and for losing weight.




Final Thoughts

These exercises are great for staying in shape. They are also great for a beginner who hasn't exercised in quite a while. Be sure to start off slowly if you aren't use to exercising. You can always add more exercises once you are use to exercising. Doing these exercises while you are watching tv will get you off your butt and will help you tone and lose more weight than if you were sitting down and doing nothing. These exercises will help you keep your mind off of food too. Be sure to have a nice glass of water with you. Drinking water before exercising will give you more energy. Keep it up and you will be firm, tone, and in better shape in no time.
