If your child is interested in Girl Scouts, you may want to consider being a den mother or a den father for the Boy Scouts.
There are programs at the YMCA, that allow fathers and sons or mothers and daughters meet together for a time of sharing, crafts, and community service projects.
Next season, instead of dropping them off for little league or soccer practice, consider becoming one of the coaches or team managers. Not only will you be an inspiration for your son or daughter, but you may help other children on the team.
Perhaps you know a lonely child or a child without one or both parents. Include this child in some of the activities you do with your own children or youth group. Perhaps you know of a child who is rejected by peers or a child new to the area. Include him or her in your group.
Consider becoming a camp counselor for your church. Young people's lives can be changed drastically in one week or weekend because a camp counselor took the time to listen, teach, and care.
