On the days lacing up your shoes feels like pulling teeth, here are motivations to exercise.
Most people exercise to lose weight. While that's a good thing, losing weight alone may not be the best motivator. Instead, focus on the health benefits of exercise. You'll lower blood pressure and decrease risk of heart disease, diabetes and depression. With these motivations to exercise, you'll be more inclined to get your body moving.
If you're striving to look like an anorexic model, i.e. Cindy Crawford, you're just setting yourself up to fail. But, if you want to climb a couple of flights of stairs, without huffing and puffing, this is an attainable goal.
If you hate exercising, perhaps you haven't found an exercise you enjoy yet! A social person would do well by teaming up with an exercise buddy or taking a group class such as yoga or tai chi. If you're a solitary person, take nature walks alone, swim or jump rope.
Can you forego one sitcom or one telephone chat every day? It takes about 10 minutes for enough feel-good endorphins to kick-in. Who knows? At the end of 10 minutes, you may be totally involved in your walk or swim and decide to continue 20 minutes more. If at all possible, exercise 30 minutes every day. If not, at least give up 10 minutes daily to exercise.
People who exercise routinely develop confidence that leads in new directions. Your new self-esteem might encourage you to get a better job or end an unhealthy relationship.
Just do it!
While I wouldn't call Cindy Crawford anorexic, I do see your point. Great informations!
