Baby showers are a great way to celebrate the upcoming birth of a baby. And why not make some memorable keepsake gifts for the baby and parents-to-be. Below are some great baby shower keepsake activities that will be fun for the guests and create lasting memories for the baby as well as the parents-to-be.
Give a numbered blank card to each guest (guests can work in pairs or groups if there are a lot of guests). Then ask that they write a birthday message or age-appropriate advice that the child will receive at the age indicated. This is a great gift for the baby especially as the baby gets older.
Ask guests to bring items that are relevant to the current times that can be put into the time capsule. Items can be newspapers, magazines, CD of current music or other popular items. Also have each guest write a personal note to the baby. All of the items are placed in the time capsule and given to mom to put away until the baby is older. You can make the time capsule out of any type of container, and then decorate it with the baby's theme.
Take a picture of each guest and place them in a scrapbook. Have each guest write on a piece of decorative scrapbook paper some advice or funny information about the parents-to-be. Have each guest stick their comment next to their picture in the scrapbook This is a great gift for the parents and can one day be shown to the baby.
Ask each guest to bring their favorite children's book to the party. All the books are placed in a pile. Mom then picks up each book one at a time and the guest who brought it tells why it was their favorite. This is a clever way to build up a beautiful collection of children's books for the baby.
Get a nice piece of thread and some colorful beads. Place the beads in a bowl, and pass around the thread and beads to each guest. Each guest then puts a bead on the thread and makes a wish for the expectant mom (out loud). After everyone has made a wish and placed a bead on the thread, start again, but this time everyone makes a wish for the baby. When complete, the hostess ties the ends of the thread together to make a necklace. The hostess then tells the mom-to-be that the expectant father should wear the necklace during labor and delivery so that everyone's wishes will come true.
