The tradition of tea is different in America and with many social groups. This is a list of things to have at tea.
Choose a tea that is special. A flowery bouquet of jasmine or berries is nice for a spring afternoon. Earl Grey with a hint of Bergamot is traditional tea but any tea that suits your fancy should be made with hot water just below boiling and allowed to steep for 2 minutes.
Teapots are found in all sorts of places. You may find exactly what you like on Ebay, craft fairs, department store or import shop. Choose English, Dutch, Asian, or a bit of America as you like. A complete tea service is lovely too.
You may be as formal as using a complete tea service with matching teapot, cups, and plates or you may have a special cup or mug that you find special. For that individual cup, find one with character that makes you smile when you hold it.
Scones, pastries, chocolates, or fruit as well as small sandwiches all make a lovely accompaniment to your favorite tea. Choose a lovely dish to serve them on or just serve yourself. Tea is meant for you to enjoy a small serving of those things you love.
You may have tea anywhere but choosing a serene place to have it makes teatime perfect. In the warm months choose an outside setting in the garden, porch, or patio. For the winter months have tea by the fire or in a warm and cozy room.
Tea is meant to be a special time that is spent with friends or a nice quiet time alone to collect yourself and renew your spirit. Just taking the time to have it makes it special. The best times of my life were having tea with my Mother or my Grandmother. It was in many different places and it was rarely formal but it made for great memories.
Back to give you a H5. Well done.
Tea time sounds like a lovely, relaxing break that is probably very needed!
Nice list.
Great list. I love tea time. I am being adventurous this year and ordered digestive biscuits to go with my tea. All the English cozy mysteries seem to have detectives eating digestive biscuits with their tea.
I always loved tea time with my grandma. She always made it special. This list brought back nice memories!
You have made tea time so wonderful with your great tea list.
