Once in a while a recipe can sound a little confusing. With different measurements listed for each ingredient on the list. There are teaspoons, tablespoons, cups, sticks, pounds and ounces to name a few.
1 pound of butter = 2 cups of butter
1 stick butter = 1/2 cup of butter
4 sticks = 1 pound of butter
2 sticks = 1/2 pound of butter
1 stick = 1/4 pound of butter
3 ounce package cream cheese = 6 tablespoons of cream cheese
1 pound of cottage cheese = 2 cups total
1 pound of cheese = 4 cups of grated cheese
1/2 pound package of unsweetened chocolate = 8 (one ounce) squares
1 ounce of chocolate = ¼ cup of grated or shaved chocolate
6 ounces of chocolate chips = 1 cup of chips
1 pound of cocoa = 4 cups of cocoa
1/2 pint whipping cream = 2 cups whipped cream
12 to 14 egg yolks = 1 cup total
8 egg whites = approximately 1 cup total
4 jumbo eggs = 1 cup total
4-5 extra large eggs = 1 cup total
5 large eggs = 1 cup total
6 medium eggs = 1 cup total
7 small eggs = 1 cup total
Measuring is a breeze when you know how to calculate the amounts needed!
