The following have never failed to get my daughter running to the bath on days she was less excited to take a bath. I also hate keeping piles of bath toys in the bathroom, so these ideas clean up quick!
I like to add liquid food coloring to the bath because there is nothing better than purple, green or bright blue water. I try to stay away from yellow food coloring, it just looks gross..... My daughter loves mixing up the colors as I drop them into the water. You can also use this technique to teach what yellow and red turn into... etc. Clean up involves draining the bath. Simple
I bought my daughter a pair of goggles for swim lessons. However wearing them in the bath seems to be a lot more fun. I've never seen her get her face so wet! (She hates water getting in her eyes) When she groans at the thought of a bath I just show her the goggles and off she goes. Clean up is merely hanging up the goggles.
A lot like the goggles, wearing something meant for the pool seems so exciting for some reason to wear in the bath. Hey, if it gets her in the tub I am all for it! This simple action makes her feel as if she is swimming rather than taking a boring bath. Hang up the suit on the shower when they are done and clean up is finished.
I found a very thin lightweight dish rag at Target about the length of my daughter. One day I threw that in the bath with her and she was busy making dresses with it. How simple and easy this was. Don't underestimate your child's creativity, I mean she was going to a mermaid ball you know. Ring out the rag and clean up is complete.
So you have purple water, swimsuit, goggles, and a rag. I'm pretty sure you are about to get one of the cutest pics ever, or funniest. Your clean up consists of hanging three things up to dry and draining water. No messy plastic toys all over the place. No crazy paints that stick to the walls of your bathtub. Again, you supply simple things, it's your imaginative kids who do the rest!
Have a simple, hassle free bath time :)
