Take a picture of yourself in your bathing suit as you are. Put this picture on your fridge to keep you from overeating, Put it in your car to remind you to not skip the gym. Keep in in your phone to look at it before ordering food when out or when grocery shopping.
Make a list of all the positive things that will happen when you reach your goal and all the negative things that may happen if you don't. Example: If I lose 30lbs I will look and feel better and I will have more energy to do things with my friends or family. Or: If I don't lose 30lbs I may end up developing diabetes or a heart condition or any other number of adverse things. Be specific in your list of what your goal is and why you want to accomplish it.
Make a contract from you to you. This is a commitment. You will write down specific goals that you must achieve by the timeline indicated. Use reasonable goals within a reasonable time, but push yourself. Sign the contract and you will be obligated to complete the task.
Reward yourself every time you accomplish a goal, Food rewards are off limits. Reward yourself with a new outfit or a mini getaway or a relaxing massage or any number of things that you enjoy but don't do often.
Team up with another person or people who share similar goals. You can keep each other accountable and motivated to stay true to the focus. Always celebrate each other's success and always be encouraging.
