Atkins diet food snacks can be tastier than one might think as an Atkins dieter is not limited by fat or calories, only by carbs. Any food which is low carb will be a great snack for either Atkins or South Beach diet followers. But, just because you can have fat and calories doesn't mean that Atkins diet plan snacks can't be healthy. In moderation, the proper Atkins diet food snack will keep you full, satisfied and you'll still love weight.
A handful of any kind of nuts, raw, roasted or salted is a great Atkins diet food snack. Although nuts do have some net carbs, they also have a lot of fiber which is filling. A few peanuts (at about 3.6 net carbs for 28 nuts) or almonds (2.4 net carbs for 24 nuts) is a really good and tasty Atkin's snack. Steer clear though of the chocolate covered peanuts or cocoa dusted almonds that are on the market - sugar is not an Atkin dieter's friend.
Any type of lunchmeat is great as a quick snack on Atkins as lunchmeat is low carb. Turkey or chicken rolled around a crunchy pickle are enough to give one a good satisfying snack. Steer clear though of processed lunchmeats, such as salami or bologna as they could stall your weight loss.
Just like processed lunchmeats may stall an Atkin's dieter's weight loss, cheese may also slow up weight loss. Keep your intake of cheese to a minimum if you find yourself not losing as much as you prefer but, still, one ounce of cheese or a stringcheese packet will serve as a very satisfying snack.
Jello has zero carbs so serves as a great snack for an Atkins dieter. Top with a bit of freshly whipped cream sweetened with a bit of splenda and you've got yourself enough sweetness to curb any sweet tooth and no carbs to boot! If you prefer the ease of Cool Whip, one tablespoon will only add 1 carb to your sugar-free Jello snack.
One of the huge benefits of the Atkin's diet is that real full-fat cream is ok! That means that an afternoon cup of coffee topped with some cream and a bit of sweetener is just right for an Atkins diet food snack. Yum!
When followed properly, the Atkin's diet is a great way to lose weight and keep it off. People think that you can't have any carbs when one is on Atkins but that's not true - fruits and vegetables are still worked into the diet plan.
I had great success on the Atkins Diet and still follow some of the principles. Great list, though I hate coffee... :)
