Some of these TV ads are over 50 years old since they were famous in the 1950's. Read them or sing them if you can.Enjoy!
Maybe not word for word, since it has been at least 40 years since I heard this TV ad for coffee; but it is pretty close. "Chock Full of Nuts is that Heavenly coffee, Heavenly coffee, Heavenly coffee. Chock Full Of Nuts is that Heavenly coffee; better coffee a millionaire's money can't buy.
This TV and roadside ad had the nicest melody with it that many people in the early 50's sang this quite often. It might not be word for word, but from memory I am singing this as I type it.Brylcream a little dab will do you, Brylcream you will look so debonaire. Brylcream a little dab will do you; the girls will love to get their fingers in your hair.
This brand of toothpaste has taken a back seat to many new brands, but still selling the great tasting brand. The TV ad is no longer heard from over 40 years ago, yet ever indelible in my memory. "You will wonder where the yellow went when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent".
Maxwell House coffee put out a TV ad years ago that caught right on to have many people singing or saying the ditty as they picked up this brand of coffee at the grocery store. On TV the drop that came out at the end of the commercial rang a bell."Maxwell House coffee is good to the very last drop."
Ritz cracker is still a very popular cracker. You might still hear someone sing this ditty when they are in the isle picking up a box of Ritz. "Wouldn't you rather have a Ritz?" The saying is still a famous one, yet not used by the Nabisco Company anymore.
Brought back a few memories...and made me smile to remember a very special place and a very special teacher :) H5
