Introduction:

These many ideas to save wildlife, will preserve several species of critters that forage for food. Some are hungry and unable to think of the dangers we put there to hurt or kill them without knowing.

Feeding

Giving food to wildlife might seem like a humane gesture, however it allows the animals to depend on you as a food source. Unless you will always give the animals of the wild the food, don't start. Water is very much needed, which will not encourage food foraging.

Water

Leaving a barrel or other container for the wildlife to drink from will save wildlife. All of them need fresh water. Make sure your container is off the traffic areas so it will not bring the animals into hazardous circumstances.

Rinse and Pierce

Before you throw away your garbage, rinse enough to get food particles off so the smell does not attract wildlife. Many animals are drawn to smells and then get into life threatening situations at landfills. Before you discard your plastic recycle items (ziploc and sandwich bags), pierce several holes into the sides and bottom to prevent suffocation of wildlife.

Recycle

Recycling preserves wildlife of many species. Think before you buy, think before you throw away and work toward recycling even if your county does not provide containers to go green. Check the many ways you can learn about recycling on your computer.

Compost

An open compost can allow many wild creatures to feed on the discarded food if you want to offer that away from your domestic pets. As the food deteriorates, cover with dirt to enrich the soil, conserve and add to the planet.
