Introduction:

There are many protein brands available on the market. Some brands may taste better to you with your personal preference of flavor, texture and thickness. These are some of the protein powders that I have tried.

Optimum Nutrition

Optimum Nutrition whey protein powder with the signature name called Gold Standard, is probably one of the best protein supplements available. The flavor is good, the powder mixes easily with a blender or a shaker cup. If you shop correctly, you can find very low prices with this supplement. With the right price, this supplement is probably the overall best value.

Gnc

GNC (General Nutrition Centers) offer a wide variety of supplements, including whey protein. The texture and consistency of GNC's whey protein powder mixes easily in a blender and it is decent for a shaker cup, although you need to keep shaking it in between sips so the powder doesn't form into chunks.

Isopure

Isopure is in a protein supplement category by itself, Isopure is the company that made removing lactose from the protein a very marketable idea. The Isopure protein does not contain lactose, which opened up a door to new customers. Isopure is exceptionally easy to mix, no blender needed, you can even mix it with a spoon. It has a very light and natural taste and it is easy on the stomach. With these better benefits will come a higher price tag, so shop around.

Designer Whey

Designer Whey was one of the originators of making a whey protein shake a popular way to increase protein intake. Designer Whey protein has a very unique texture that mixes easily with a blender or shaker cup and is probably one of the best tasting protein powders available.

Muscle-Tech

Muscle-Tech is a company known for creating supplements for hardcore bodybuilders. They have a protein powder called Nitro-Tech. When I used the Nitro-Tech supplement, the powder was very thick and needed extra fluid to mix correctly. The flavor is good, but this powder is best to use in a blender, not a shaker cup.
