America's favorite pastime, baseball, has so many talented players. Each one has skills that all little boys and their fathers dream of mastering. Little girls, too!
Pete Rose is one of the greatest baseball players of all time. He is responsible for many of the asterisks in all the baseball record books. It is a shame that gambling keeps from being listed in those records.
"The Wizard," Ozzie Smith, is the best shortstop of all time! Many fans of the game wondered if he was a baseball player or a gymnast as they watched him make unbelievable plays between second and third base.
Oklahoma's most famous of all baseball players, Mickey Mantle, is a player for the ages. His positive attitude on and off the field made him beloved to fans and players alike.
Reggie Jackson was a joy to watch at the plate. "Mr. October" was a home run hitter all year long, but especially during post season. Despite his many strike outs, when he made contact with the ball you'd best put a stewardess on it because it at "outta here."
You must be good when you have a nickname before you make it to the show and Chipper Jones is certainly good. Larry Wayne Jones is a switch hitter that can play almost anywhere in the field. Although, he does look best at third.
Baseball is the greatest sport ever played. This is because of all the terrific players who take the field every summer. Watching them play a game they've loved since they were young is a thrill to all baseball fans.
Wow, Chipper Jones is in great company here!
Nice list. Impossible to keep it to just five, isn't it?
