Introduction:

I started watching American Idol during season two. Five have captured my attention either during the season they were on, or after wards. I follow all news about these five, and buy their music, and attend their concerts when I can.

Taylor Hicks

Taylor Hicks won the fifth season of American Idol. He had my vote from the moment he auditioned. He never gave in to people wanting him to change. He never gave in to requests to dye his hair. He stayed true to himself and entertained viewers like no contestant had before.

He proved Simon Cowell doesn't know it all, when he constantly stayed out of the bottom three, and went on to win the title of American Idol.

All of these reasons, plus the fact that he has an amazing voice, and treats his fans with a lot respect is the reason Taylor Hicks is on the top of my list for The Top Five American Idols.

Hicks is currently in Nashville in the studio working on his third album.

Bucky Covington

Bucky Covington was also on Season five of American Idol. He placed 8th. While I was not a big fan of his while he was on the show. I changed my mind after seeing him in concert and purchasing his CD. I love country music and Covington is an amazing country music artist.

His concerts are full of energy, and he gets the audience to join in by singing along. Covington also walks into the audience to keep the fans on their feet and having a good time.

Covington is currently working on his second CD that will hits stores soon.

Casey James

Casey James was on the ninth season of Idol, placing third. James was known for not only is voice, but also his amazing guitar playing skills.

March 20, 2012 he released his first CD, titled, Casey James. The album came in at #2 on the Country Album chart, and #23 on the Billboard 200.

Scotty Mccreery

Scotty McCreery won the tenth season of American Idol. A 17-year old boy walked into the auditions and wowed the judges, as well as the viewers at home.

McCreery was also never in the bottom three. I liked this kid from the moment he auditioned and knew he would probably win the title of American Idol.

His debut CD "Clear as Day." is an amazing country album that McCreery should be very proud of.

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood won the fourth season of American Idol. She is America's country sweetheart who has won numerous awards for her music since winning Idol in 2005.

It was not hard to predict that Underwood would win it all has her talent captured viewers everywhere.




Final Thoughts

There is a lot of talented people to come out of American Idol. many more are sure to be discovered. The eleventh season is airing now, and there are many talented singers trying to win the American Idol title. My choice for season eleven is Phillip Phillips.
