Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family, share photos, and stay connected. However, some people share TOO much. Here are some examples.
Don't post about leaving for a vacation, a day trip, or even a quick visit to the supermarket. Do you really know and trust EVERY ONE of your FB friends? Why advertise on a public forum that your house is going to be empty? If you want to share details about your trip, do it AFTER you return home.
He loves me. He loves me not. Don't air your dirty laundry on Facebook. It's immature and can be very awkward if you reconcile, and you've told your 500 closest "friends" the details of your breakup.
We've all seen those TMI posts that make us cringe - overly detailed descriptions of a stomach virus, play-by-play account of a child's potty training....you get the idea. Some things are better left unsaid.
No one needs to know that now you're brushing your teeth....and now you're getting dressed...and now you're eating Cheerios... and now you're getting in the car. Over posting - especially the insignificant details of your day - could lead to a dwindling friend list.
Or a potential employer. It's difficult, if not impossible, to ever completely delete something from the internet. Once you post it, it's out there for good. So think twice before posting inappropriate pictures, or writing about drunken escapades, one night stands, or anything potentially illegal.
Me too! Thanks so much lilmrsknowitall!! :-)
Great list! I hate it when people post every minute of their lives!
