Percy Robert Miller, aka, Master P, born April 29, 1967, comes in under the radar because most people are surprised to learn that he is the richest, most successful rapper of all time. Forbes lists his net worth at $661 million. His son, Lil Romeo, has a net worth of approximately $60 million. Master P has built a well diversified empire that includes several rap labels, a clothing line, a management company, a high end travel agency, a film production company, and a video game company.

Jay-Z

Jay-Z was born on December 4, 1969. His given name is Shawn Corey Carter. He's married to R&B superstar Beyoncé and is one of the most financially successful hip hop artists and entrepreneurs in America. He owns club 40/40 and is part-owner of the New Jersey Nets NBA franchise. As of 2010, Jay-Z's estimated net worth was over 450 million dollars.

P-Diddy

P-Diddy was born on November 4, 1969 (ironically one month before Jay Z). Also known as Sean John Combs, and Puff Daddy, he is a rapper, actor, record producer, and men's fashion designer, with an estimated net worth of $380 million dollars. P-Diddy is a native of New York. He attended Howard University in Washington, D.C. and was recognized as a party promoter during his days at Howard.

50 Cent

Curtis James Jackson III was born July 6, 1975 and has a net worth of $250-$300 million. He is a rapper and entrepreneur that burst onto the scene with his debut album "Get Rich or Die Trying." His four studio albums alone have sold over 21 million units. In his relatively short time in the spotlight, 50 founded label G-Unit records, launched G-Unit clothing company, and has acted in several movies with legends like Al Pacino and Robert Deniro.

Russell Simmons

Russell Simmons would be considered the "Grandfather" of this list of moguls. He was born October 4, 1957. He is founder of Def Jam, Rush Communications, Inc., which includes a management company, a clothing company called Phat Farm, a movie production house, television shows such as Def Comedy Jam, Def Poetry, a magazine and an advertising agency. Simmons net worth is estimated at $325 million.
