The month of July brings warm weather, the romance of the Ruby birthstone and plenty of other memories. July has always been one of my favorite months and these quotes confirm my sentiments.
Many farmers have echoed this familiar quote about corn. I grew up hearing it from my gardening family members.
"Knee high by the Fourth of July."
A wise, nostalgic quote by physician and author, Oliver Wendell Holmes.
"For him in vain the envious seasons roll
Who bears eternal summer in his soul."
"No bought potpourri is so pleasant as that made from ones own garden, for the petals of the flowers one has gathered at home hold the sunshine and memories of summer, and of past summers only the sunny days should be remembered."
"Answer July, where is the bee, where is the blush,
where is the hay?
Ah, said July, where is the seed, where is the bud,
where is the May, answer thee~me."
"Many public-school children seem to know only two dates: 1492 and the Fourth of July; and as a rule they don't know what happened on either occasion."
I like your July list.
I love the quote in #3. H5
