In today's society, many of the young generation students are dropping out as early as high school; while on the other hand, many of the older generation are going back to finish off their degrees. Five reasons "To Go On To College".
Today, it's quite hard to land a good paying job with excellent benefits that you would feel comfortable with for the rest of your career. Gaining your degree is only one way to gain the necessary experience that you will need to get that "perfect" dream career you always wanted.
From the moment you attend a college tour until the moment you land that "perfect" job; you will meet people from all classes, genders, experience, and locations in the world. Some will become life-long friends while others may become your future employers.
From movie nights, Greek organizations, and even those late night studies, college life is one big experience. During this time you learn to be independent on a budget. This will be the time to do anything possible; since your only responsibility is keeping up grades.
Besides the parties, the networking, and the money, gaining a college education will give you a gift that no one can take away. The gift of knowledge. You will be able to take this "gift" with you when/where ever you go. (Also if you are really smart, you'll gain some scholarships and internships in the end (: )
First generation student? Have younger siblings? Younger family members? Or maybe perhaps you plan on having kids of your own someday. One thing you'll learn in college would be to plan for the future. You will be an influence for younger students to pursue their post-secondary options. Be the change!
If I had to, I could put hundreds of more reasons to further your education at an educational instution.
