A little something for the International travelers for a change. Berlin has a history going back about 5,000 years making it an interesting city to explore!
There are a few remnants of the wall to be seen...a piece of the grafitti filled wall in Kreuzberg displayed as art and a more somber piece near Checkpoint Charlie.
Museum Island has five institutions that are described by AAA as "world-class" and the best part is that you can get a pass that give access to all five for around $20.
This is home to the German Parliment and offers the best view of the city. This one is free but you must book in advance.
This is not really a destination, but perhaps the best deal on several destinations. Berlin has an excellent train system and you can get a five day pass for about $50 and it includes discounts on about 80 tourist attractions!
The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe is a free attraction featuring 2,711 concrete slabs on the sloping grounds. Might be a good place to stop, reflect, and remember a tragic part of history.
I won't be visiting Berlin, but thanks for the list.
