There are many different styles of electronic music that are divided into several genres, and then, within those genres, there are several other sub-genres. The term "House" is being used broadly here. In any case, these are my top 5 house music artists.
Deadmau5 lays some of the sickest beats around, and the world is taking notice; Deadmau5 was the house DJ for the 2010 VMA's after all. If you haven't had the pleasure of listening to Deadmau5, here are some amazing tracks to get you started: "Ghosts N' Stuff," "Dr. Funkenstein," "Brazil (2nd Edition)," and "Sometimes Things Get, Whatever."
Daft Punk inspired so many musicians to do more in the world of electronic music. The stories that they've told, the larger than life image that they hold, and the power of some amazing music has lead Daft Punk to the top. Some great Daft Punk tracks to check out are: "Around the World," "Robot Rock," "One More Time," and "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger." Also, if you have the time, their movie "Interstella 5555" is also quite an experience.
Fedde le Grand has a funky sound and some pretty funky grooves too. His catchy, bumpin' beats are bound to make anyone want to dance. Some highlights: "Put Your Hands Up for Detroit," "Amplifier," and my personal favorite, "Scared of Me."
I saw Wolfgang Gartner's name in a comment box on a forum somewhere and decided to check out the music. I was really excited to hear it, because the sound is dark, intense, creative, and edgy... and maybe a little dirty. The best tracks to listen to in order to get to know Wolfgang Gartner a little more are: "Undertaker," "Animal Rights (with Deadmau5)", and "Wolfgang's 5th Symphony."
Both of these guys could arguably be called pop music artists, but both of them have put out some crazy amazing house/electro music. For Benny Benassi, check out "Satisfaction," "I Love My Sex," and "Rock N' Rave." For David Guetta, check out "Gettin' Over You (feat. Fergie and Lmfao)," "Sexy Bitch (feat. Akon)," and "When Love Takes Over (feat. Kelly Rowland)."
Some others who didn't QUITE make the list include: Justice, Danger, Afrojack, and Cosmic Gate. (Plus Tiesto and Pakito, who are more trance anyway...)
I didn't know even one of them. H5
There's also an up-and-coming House musician I know well that you all should def. check out if you get the chance: Wilhuff
