The first important thing to consider while deciding whether you want to choose to begin an online writing career would be where to write. There are numerous sites where you can write articles online and get paid for it.

At most of these online writing sites it is totally free to join. Some sites you just sign up for while other sites require you to also join their compensation program.

Take a good look around on the internet, and feel free to check out several of these online writing sites before choosing any particular one. Some of these sites also offer a referral program where you will earn money for getting others to join under you and maybe even earn a percentage of their earnings. Writing online is a great way to earn residual income.

Time

Another important thing to consider while choosing an online writing career is the time that you are willing to spend writing online. The more that you put into your writing career, the more that you will be getting out of it.

Some online sites will pay for the articles that you write at a prepaid level. Many others will offer a residual income that may keep you earning money for your articles for an indefinite amount of time.

You must decide how much time that you will be planning to keep available to write articles. Normally, this is done in your spare time.

Money

Another important thing for you to consider while choosing an online writing career is that you will most likely not be receiving any real amount of money when you first get started.

They will need to see more money than that to be pleased with your new online writing career. Once your family and friends begin seeing your residual income coming in, they will be much happier with the career that you have chosen.

Another important thing for you to consider while choosing an online writing career is that you do not want to store all of your eggs in one basket, so to speak.

Once you have began your new online writing career, you will probably begin thinking of expanding. It is a wise idea to expand your writing career, and join several other online writing sites, as well.

This way, if you were ever to encounter any problems with the first writing site that you have chosen, this would not be disheartening. You would always have a backup site to continue eagerly writing articles on and continue earning money for all your efforts. Depending on the problems encountered, you would still be receiving residual income from your first writing site.

Backup

The last and most important thing to consider while choosing an online writing career is that it is important to keep your day job. You will be needing a good, steady income to live on while getting yourself settled in your new online writing career.

Writers should always have a good backup plan. The earnings that writers make vary from month to month. One month you may earn hundreds of dollars while the next month you may earn very little.

That is why it is so extremely important to keep your day job. Having a day job is an awesome backup plan.
