There are many reasons one could get told to go home. They don't usually tell the extras to go home unless they really do something. If they are very late they might not be used. There are many rules on the set. These are ones that I have heard of.
This extra had decided to overdo things just a bit on the set. He was sent home for humping or attempting to, different girls on the set in his monkey costume. I think they were in the costumes also.
This film had Mel Gibson on it. When the call was given to all exit the theater this extra decideded to push everyone out of his way including a little old lady into the door.
We were not supposed to touch the makeup done on us. It was purposely put on to make us look like cartoons. These girls were singers being extras and they had taken some of the makeup off.
This extra had refused to put on the backless evening dress and was sent home. I got to wear it. I was sent in at the last minute and found everyone there eating the food.
It was written that Marilyn Monroe had one of the female blonde extras told to go home from the set. She didn't want any competition to her hair.
My extra friend a good looking female and a songwriter told me that Priscilla Presley had her taken out of a scene. She thought she was jealous. I don't know if that was it or not. It is unlikely an actor on the set will get you told to go home unless you do something wrong.
H5 list. Thanks for sharing.
