I love to watch movies, especially movies about the news. Any news--television, newspaper, magazine--it's all good.
Shattered Glass is a 2003 news movie based on a true story. Stephen Glass was a young journalist who wrote for "The New Republic" and made up more than half of the articles he wrote. Stars: Hayden Christenson, Chloe Sevigny, Steve Zahn.
This 2005 movie is about the 1950s McCarthy scare. McCarthy's allegations of citizens being Communists was brought to a stop with the help of Edward R. Murrow and staff. Stars: David Strathairn, George Clooney, Patricia Clarkson.
This 1987 movie is fictional but still does a good job of portraying a behind-the-scenes look at the news industry. Two male television newscasters and a female producer make news of their own. Stars: William Hurt, Albert Brooks, Holly Hunter.
This 2008 movie is based on David Frost's interviews with Richard Nixon. Everyone expected the interviews to be lackluster fluff pieces, but Frost gets an ousted Nixon to admit some surprising facts. Stars: Frank Langella, Michael Sheen, Kevin Bacon.
This 2007 movie is based on the true story of the San Francisco serial killer known as the Zodiac killer. It follows a newspaper cartoonist who becomes an amateur detective to track down the Zodiac killer. Stars: Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards, Robert Downey Jr.
