Reasons Not to Get Drunk or High on Prom Night

Introduction:

I have never understood why teens do it, even when I was a teen but some think prom would just be more fun if they were wasted. I am going to tell you why it won't be and why you should stay sober.

You Will Look Foolish

Everyone knows that when you are drunk or stoned that you lose your inhibitions. Do you really want to do that at your prom in front of everyone you know? If you are drunk or stoned the likely hood that you will say or do something you are going to regret is very high.

Those who are there will likely be talking about it Monday at school and will likely remember really bad behavior for the rest of their lives. Do you want to be the butt of jokes at every reunion for the next 50 years? If so then show up drunk or stoned.

You May Do Something You Regret or Get Hurt

There has always been this big this big expectation about prom night. Some guys think that they are guaranteed to get lucky because it is a special night and they have spent a lot of money, not to mention they have brought enough booze to turn their dates in to a drunken mess.

Get a little drunk and you may lose your ability to say no, or you may find yourself buying in to the hype. You should do those sort of things with the right person at the right time. Not because it is prom night and you are drunk and have forgotten that you are a valuable lady, or gentleman.

Your ability to drive will also be altered and if your date is drinking so will his or hers. Drive drunk or stoned or get in to a car where the driver is drunk or stoned and prom night could be your last night, or you could end up with injuries and scars that will last a life time.

You Might Get Sick

Do you really want to spend prom night in the bathroom with your face over the toilet with your beautiful dress or nice tuxedo bunched up on the bathroom floor. Don't you want to enjoy your post prom and not spend it in bed the next day feeling like someone is hitting you in the head with a hammer. What kind of prom night and post prom is that? Think about it. Most people that get drunk end up sick by the end of the night and if you make it through the night without getting sick you will very likely feel awful the next day.

You Won't Look Nice

I have never seen anyone who is drunk male or female who looks nice. Sure you might look great to other drunk people but to everyone else you will not. Your eyes will be droopy, you will likely wipe at your makeup without realizing it, your speech will be blurred, you will likely mess up your hair, you will not smell good and you may even drool or have barf on your clothes and in your hair. You probably invested a lot in your dress, your tux, your hair, and your make up. If you want to look as beautiful or as handsome as you did when the night first started then don't get drunk or wasted.

You Won't Have any Memories

I don't want to actually show how old I am but I will say that my proms were many years ago and I still remember them as clear as a bell and those memories are fond. I can remember them so well because I did not get drunk or wasted. I had a fantastic time and there were no drinks or drugs required. I can happily tell my own children about my wonderful prom experiences. I can also tell you who got drunk or stoned at my proms and made idiots of themselves.

Sure not everyone has a memory like I do and not everyone is going to remember most of the details of their proms but you are sure to remember a lot more then being wasted if you stay sober on prom night.

I hope I have convinced you to stay sober on prom night.
