Hello Ladies! If you've ever picked up a fashion magazine, I think you'll be able to relate!
Recycling is a good thing, right? Most of the time it is, but not when it's another advice colum, giving you the same spill over and over and over again! I don't want to read, "3 ways to get rid of stress"- Take a bubble bath, listen to your favorite music and visualize yourself calm, OR, "3 ways to get to sleep"- Take a bubble bath, listen to your favorite music, and visualize yourself sleeping. Big lol on that one!
Doesn't that say it all? When did someone from the Diet pill company get with someone in the Fashion industry and decide that real woman should be represented as a, "One size fits all", category? I'm an average height and weight, so I'm never going to be 5'10" and 110 pounds! Most of us just aren't built that way! I think the models are beautiful, but let's celebrate the many shapes and sizes,(and while were at it, colors too), out there!
Now that I have a few decades behind me, I realize that most media outlets, including the fashion magazine, seems to cater to the old me, I mean the young me, I should say. But I think real woman of all ages can have style, and should have a little more consideration!
I know, it's a fashion magazine, but come on, aren't they supposed to reflect the latest trends? The economy just isn't what she used to be. So, how can real woman buy the latest(expensive) trends, when they can barely afford the magazines themselves?
"You can do it all!" "You can have it all!" Sound familiar? They talk about you like you should be the world's ultimate juggler! "Look like a star while you raise your kids!" We only have 2 hands, so the third ball is occasionaly going to fall. Sometimes things don't go right, plans don't work out and you know what? That's o.k. In the real world, life isn't supposed to be perfect. We work with what we have and make the best of it.
I've talked to many Ladies about this topic, and these 5 complaints seemed to be at the top of everyone's list on this subject!
That's a good list...but I'm a man...so I have to admire the un"real"istic woman :) I can relate on most of the others though. As for the expectations, I think there is probably a fine line between expectations and encouragement & I wuld tend to be a little more accepting of that. I totally get the recycling bit...that's funny! H5
