Ways to Make a Cup of Coffee Special

Ah, the smell of freshly roasted coffee in a quiet house early in the morning. Nothing better than that java stop, right? Well, maybe...come along and learn the top 5 ways to make a cup of coffee special.

Use Only the Best Coffee

This one is a given but it's amazing how many people use store brands of coffee beans. Search out and visit local coffee roasters. Pick up pound packages of coffee in different roasting types - from the lightest roast to the darkest. Identify which you like the best and stock up from freshly roasted coffee beans.

Use Coffee Beans Instead of Pre Ground Coffee

You'll have the best flavor in your coffee is you grind the beans right before brewing. If grinding the coffee beans seems like too much work, pick up one of the newer coffee makers which has a self-grinding mechanism. Grind only the coffee beans you need for the pot you're making.

Use Filtered Water For Your Coffee

Since the most common ingredient in a cup of coffee is water, it only makes sense to use the best water to start off with. Buy gallon jugs of spring water or use something like a Britta water filter to provide the water for your coffee.

Add Just a Dash of Cinnamon to the Coffee

Before brewing, put just a dash of cinnamon on top of the coffee. The resulting brew will have just a hint of the spice and really perks up (pun intended) your coffee brew.

If You Usually Drink Your Coffee Black Add Cream

A cup of java becomes much more special with a drop of cream (and maybe a teaspoon of sugar). So go ahead and splurge once in a while. If you can't justify using full cream, grab a small container of Half and Half instead.




Final Thoughts

For the best morning cup of coffee, let yourself relax to experience the java. Grab a nice chair in the outside garden or stroke a dog ear (or six...) and just kick back for a minute. Java stops are necessary to getting the day started off right.
